THIS IS THE BEST BURGER IN MILWAUKEE. Delicious flavorful burgers every time we eat here. This is my favorite burger place in Milwaukee. Fries are CRISP, buns are SOFT, and the burgers are JUICY. Mushroom swiss, double cheeseburger, or my personal favorite the double sobelman burger... any burger, this place will get it right. Plus the prices are SO GOOD. A whole burger plus fries for $10 is pretty good to me especially for the quality you get every time.

I like to do the bar/beer burger lunch thing from time to time and that's what I wanted today. The place was empty at just after 2pm on a Sunday which was ok because I'm going to the bar.
I ordered the Riverwest stein that is just about everywhere now because Bud or Lite on tap will not do it for me. My jaw hit the floor when my beer was served to me in a plastic party cup WTF, am I in a bar or at a frat party. When I'm paying good money for better than a domestic beer I expect a real glass.
I ordered the loser burger rare that comes with frys to go because the menu said it was on food wars, I would not have ordered it otherwise. The loser burger comes with Colby jack cheese, bacon and grilled onion.
I could tell with the first bite with out even looking at it that it cooked rare, rare has a better flavor vs fully cooked to me. The beef itself had a good fresh beef taste and moist, no dry patty here. The bun was perfect which was not super soft with an egg wash shiny top. The frys were the season kind that were hot with a nice crisp outside and soft center seasoned nicely.
Overall the the burger and frys were pretty good and cooked to order which filled my crave for the burger/beer lunch. One star removed for the silly plastic party cup, I'm an adult having an adult beverage and I expect a real dam glass from a bar. I would not return here and find another place that has real glasses for the beer burger lunch thing. -

Sobelman's is a Marquette classic and an easy go-to when you aren't feeling like eating pizza or Qdoba.
I personally have never enjoyed anything that much from this establishment ranging from burgers to salads. The only thing I moderately enjoy are the fries. If you go for the alcohol, it would seem worth it based on the deals but if it does not appeal to you, I'd suggest going somewhere else.
It does appeal to people visiting campus or just stopping by when in town to visit someone at Marquette or reminisce on their college days.
Service is always okay, usually college kids who don't seem like they care that much about what they are doing. -

Great, fresh food and happy staff.
I've had almost everything on the menu and they never disappoint. The burgers are always juicy, with crispy buns, and crunchy fries. Sometimes I upgrade to sweet potato fries because those are also great. A must try is the bacon wrap jalapeno cheese balls. Delicious!!!
The staff here is super friendly and always great to be around. There are many TVs, so games are always onI highly suggest checking it out.
Update: Soblemans is great! The staff is always friendly and helpful. Bartender Alex always has a smile on his face and is happy to answer questions and get you anything you need. He refills drinks quickly too! Server Meghan is friendly and always laughing! The owners and managers are almost always there and are very customer oriented to make sure you are happy.
I've probably tried everything on the menu. My favorite is the bacon wrapped jalapeño cheese balls and a hangover burger. The wraps are also great. However, Soblemans has great daily food specials so make sure you ask about those before you decide. The drink specials are also unmatched. $5 pitchers of miller lite? Such a good deal! Overall you can't go wrong with Soblemans. -

A friend told me they swear by the wings and Sobelman's. They didnt say what location or if that made a difference. This location was on my route, and I was hungry, so I decided to stop. I asked what they were known for, and they said the burgers. I asked about the wings, and they were nothing special, so I got a burger.
It's a very good bar burger. Not the best I've ever had, but not at all disappointing. Fresh, plenty of flavor, many topping options, the bread wasnt overwhelming. Comes with fries. I dont know if it's a Milwaukee thing, but most restaurants here seem to have "malt fries" with a thick coating (similar to Popeyes or Checkers). I like malt fries so I'm not complaining. I am normally not a ketchup person, but Sobelman's has their own spicy ketchup that compliments their food very well and I definitely recommend it.
I asked for other recommendations and was told I had to try the bacon wrapped jalapenos. I did, and frankly, they were nothing special. I did not taste much of the jalapenos or cheese, I mainly tasted bacon and breading (and ranch when I dipped them).
This location is a bit of an old fashioned dingy restaurant and bar, which I mean in the nicest possible way-- it's exactly the kind of place you'd want to go for a greasy burger and a no frills drink.
